Dear Lavanya,

The exhibition was a good one. It provide a good opportunity for me to interact with the kids and students. It was a special occasion for Mani to speak his mind, and it was brilliant for him to say "Knowledge is freedom". Sita, radha manohar and armugam to explain what was in the pictures. .... now coming to reality ...the exhibition provided students and kids who live in most underprivileged conditions and limited opportunities to
1. opportunity to express themselves
2. a means to visualize their reality to others
3. opportunity to speak up for themselves (this is most important as most and nearly all of them are busy with their own)

Two things i realized through this process
1. The children were not selling their condition
2. They saw it as an opportunity to express their feelings and they were enthusiastic to share more and more

learning s from it
1. They talked about being free in their present situation. which i interpret as a sense of freedom with in them
2. A platform for expressing all they feel

I would like to explain this. When the opportunities provided are very less, it gets quite difficult. It does not mean it is the panacea. People need space for expressing what they feel the pain the agony and happiness. so think on this ....
